Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series 2026 Championship

As a proud sponsor of the 2026 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presented by FloRacing, Wilwood Racing wanted to post a recap of the final points standings as the season came to an end on Sunday night (10/11/26). Wilwood’s continuing partnership with Lucas Oil LMDS, which includes the Lucky 7 Contingency Award for 7th-place finishers at each race, shares in the excitement of the series that is well known for blockbuster battles on the dirt tracks around the country. Wilwood Racing would like to congratulate ALL the competitors and race teams in the 2026 season, as they are the ones who put in the work, travel, and sweat that make it so much fun to follow and watch throughout the year. It is worth noting that Wilwood brake components are used by almost every one of the racers' cars in the series, including ALL the top 10 finishers' cars listed below.

Brandon Sheppard secured his first overall Lucas Oil LMDS national championship, ending the 2026 season with a runner-up finish in the 46th Annual ARP Dirt Track World Championship presented by Summit Racing Equipment at West Virginia Motor Speedway. Sheppard, who’s from New Berlin, IL, earned the $250,000 Big River Steel Championship presented by ARP, finishing 55 points ahead of last year’s series champion Devin Moran. Sheppard’s path to the championship included nine 1st-place finishes, 28 top-five finishes, and 39 top-10 finishes. “It sounds so sweet, honestly,” Sheppard said after claiming the 2026 championship. “It hasn't sunk in yet, for sure.”

Devin Moran finished a commanding second in the championship standings, followed by Hudson O’Neal for Third place. Ricky Thornton Jr. placed Fourth, and Brandon Overton completed the top five in Fifth place. Below are the Top 10 finishing positions and points for 2026. Congratulations again to ALL the competitors in the series, and Wilwood Racing looks forward to seeing how the 2027 LMDS season unfolds.
