Big Brake Kits for Towing and Hauling Big Loads

Big Brake Kits for Towing and Hauling Big Loads

Do you find yourself sweating and white-knuckling the wheel when towing or hauling with your pickup truck? A set of big, high-performance brakes from Wilwood can improve stopping distances and reduce fade when you're using your vehicle near the limits of its intended payload capacity. Many modern trucks have no problem pulling 10,000 lbs, but you may find their brakes are less than ideal when coming around a twisty road through the mountains.

Air bubbles in the lines mean a spongey pedal and poor brake performance. Old fluid also degrades with time and must be flushed for high performance driving. Here's how...

Troubleshooting - Tandem Master Cylinder with No Fluid/No Pressure to the Rear

Common complaints to our tech line involve no pressure to the rear brake lines. With a dual circuit/tandem M/C this issue has a common cause - the rear piston not fully returning to its proper resting position. Customers often think they have a defective M/C but that’s not it. For the M/C to build pressure properly, the piston's primary seal must retract past the compensating port, and the rear of the piston rest on the snap ring.
