Wilwood started out engineering and manufacturing the best brake calipers available for racing. Over the years we have expended to offer our own improved versions of every part you need for performance brake systems - from the pedal to the pad. For more than 20 years, race, street, and show cars have been showing off Wilwood master cylinders when they popped their hoods.
Wilwood master cylinders were designed to be better looking, lighter, and better performing than OEM options. Now with a Wilwood master cylinder, when building a car, you don't have to guess at what size master cylinder piston you are getting, or search for obscure factory optional parts. We have options for power or manual brakes, integral or remote reservoirs, and a range of bore sizes and strokes.
Tandem Aluminum Master Cylinder:
Wilwood's Tandem Aluminum Master Cylinder is available in three finishes, and four bore sizes - 7/8" and 15/16" bores for manual brakes, 1" and 1-1/8" bores for power brakes, all with a 1.10" stroke. Sold with or without integral pushrod, and also available with 1964-72 Ford Mustang specific pushrod. Machined from high-pressure die cast aluminum and finished in black E-coat, or ball burnished or raw aluminum.
This unit weighs only 3-lbs, a 75% weight savings over most OE cast iron master cylinders. The mounting flange has elongated holes, 3.22" to 3.40" on center, to work with many domestic cars and trucks from the 1960s to the present. Overall length from mounting flange is approximately 8.25" with a 3.25" width across the reservoir.
Outlet ports on both sides of the bore make plumbing easy. The 8-ounce front reservoir is nearly twice the capacity of the rear, with a black E-coat billet aluminum cap held on with four stainless steel allen screws.
Compact Tandem Aluminum Master Cylinder:
Wilwood's Compact Tandem Aluminum Master Cylinder projects about 1-1/2" less from the firewall or booster than our normal tandem model, but is 1" wider. The design results in it holding nearly the same amount of fluid as the larger master cylinder, 7.8-ounces in the front, 4.7-ounces in the rear reservoir. These die-cast aluminum units are available in the same four popular bore sizes (7/8", 15/16", 1", and 1-1/8") as the larger model, with the same 1.10" stroke. Chose from two finishes - black E-coat or ball burnished aluminum. Sold with or without integrated pushrod, and also available with C2 Corvette or first generation Mustang specific pushrod.
This unit weighs only 3 lbs, a 75% weight savings over cast iron OE master cylinders. The mounting flange has oval holes and fits studs 3.22" to 3.40" on center to work with many domestic cars and trucks from the 1960s to the present. Outlet ports on both sides of the bore make plumbing easy. Black E-coat billet aluminum cap held on with stainless steel allen screws.
Remote Tandem Master Cylinder:
Wilwood’s Remote Tandem Master Cylinder is available in 4 bore sizes, 7/8”, 15/16", 1", and 1-1/8", all with a 1.12" stroke. The body of the master cylinder can be had with black E-coat or ball burnished aluminum finish. This is one of the lightest performance master cylinders available, weighing less than 3-lbs with plastic reservoirs.
Plastic 4-oz reservoirs with remote mount kits, hoses, and brackets are included, or they can be mounted directly to the master cylinder. Stylish billet aluminum reservoirs are also available separately, as are larger plastic units. The mounting flange features elongated holes 3.22" to 3.40" on center to work with many domestic cars and trucks from the 1960s to the present. Outlet ports on both sides of the bore make plumbing easy. Sold with or without integrated pushrod, or with rod specially designed for first generation Ford Mustang.
Mopar Type Tandem Master Cylinder:
Wilwood makes these OE style master cylinders ourselves, and they are brand new, not rebuilt factory units. Made from durable aluminum with outlet ports on the fender side and a large lightweight plastic reservoir. We patterned it after the popular Chrysler unit introduced in the 1970s and it utilizes standard OE internal components. With standard plastic reservoir it weighs just 2.5-lbs.
This 1-1/16" bore master cylinder with an extended 1.35" stroke is available with or without an integrated pushrod. Standard 3.22" on center mounting holes fit many applications and can be adapted to racing pedal assemblies or Mopar 4-bolt boosters with optional Wilwood mounting adapter bracket. This reliable master cylinder has been popular in drag racing for decades and is also used in circle track, and off-road classes where factory style master cylinders are required or preferred.
Remote Tandem Racing Master Cylinder:
Wilwood's Remote Tandem Racing Master Cylinder provides one of the safest ways to actuate dual caliper axle brake systems on drag cars. This cylinder features 50/50 output from a 1.00" bore with a 1.10" stroke. We specifically developed this master cylinder for drag cars using two calipers on each rear rotor and no front brake, but it has found its way onto street cars as well.
This master cylinder bolts directly to Wilwood's pedals or hand brake lever. Uses 4-ounce plastic reservoirs mounted directly to the master cylinder. Kit available with adapters, hoses and brackets to remotely mount reservoirs if needed.
Accessories:
Wilwood doesn't just make the big parts. We have everything from the pedal to the brake pad! Besides calipers, rotors, and master cylinders, we engineer a full line of accessories, brake pads, fluid, brackets, adapters, and more. Here are just a few of the part numbers that make installing a Wilwood master cylinder even easier.
