Wilwood Visits the Ventura Nationals
Posted on
The sales and marketing crew from Wilwood are out in the field all year long at shows like LS Fest, Hot August Nights, Goodguys, and SEMA showing off our latest product innovations. When not officially on the job, you would think we'd want to be anywhere but a car show, but you'd be wrong. Most of us were car guys and gals before starting at Wilwood and continue to enjoy the hobby.
Wilwood did not have any official display at the Ventura Nationals show at the fairgrounds, but it is just a few miles from our factory and office in Camarillo, CA. John from Marketing visited and brought back these pictures of Wilwood equipped rides and other vehicles he just liked the look of.
Grassroots shows like this let us research what people are building these days and direct our product planning. One thing we confirmed is that trucks are very hot - which is good because we have just introduced Chevy C10 products and are building a custom Ford F100 in our R&D shop.
Enjoy this slideshow of cars we liked.
For many decades, the Ventura Fairgrounds has been the home of sprint, midget, stock car and motorcycle racing on their 1/4-mile dirt oval. For the past 18 years, the Ventura Nationals (originally the Ventura Primer Nationals) have brought hot rods, low riders, custom cars, vans, and choppers to the fairgrounds surrounding the race track. The vibe is laid back with live music, beers, BBQ, and burgers, perfect for this Labor Day Weekend.
The cars represented tend more toward traditional Southern California-style builds and not high-tech billet-clad pro-touring rides. But we found plenty of traditional vehicles which incorporated Wilwood brakes on them, which is part of why we go. Wilwood is always looking for new and interesting builds to feature in our print magazine advertisements.
